During the 40 weeks of ADRA activity, through the implementation of the “Humanitarian Support COVID-19” project, vulnerable and pandemic families benefited from food and hygiene products, medicines or protective equipment, social assistance, psychological counseling, and providing shelter.
In the 40th week of implementation of the project "Humanitarian Support COVID-19", the ADRA team reached 1,269 people: 726 adults struggling to ensure decent living conditions; 294 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, but have exceptional academic results; 146 single elderly people with acute subsistence needs; 60 immigrants; 37 entrepreneurs who are continuing their economic activity; and 6 victims of domestic violence.
Therefore, in the week of December 06–12, the ADRA project “Humanitarian Support COVID-19” implemented the specialized services adapted to the specific needs generated or accentuated by the COVID-19 context for 1,269 beneficiaries, as follows: 1,025 people received basic food for a decent living and to be able to get through these days of crisis more easily, of which 76 received a hot meal at home every day; 126 people benefited from social assistance and crisis counseling; 62 people received food, hygiene products, medicines, or protective equipment; 37 entrepreneurs were monitored in adopting and carrying out their economic activities; 19 people received help through shelter provided.
“The project ‘Humanitarian support COVID-19’, ADRA Romania always manages to bring a ray of hope into the lives of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through the humanitarian help and support offered with a dear heart,” said Delia Fărâmiță, assistant manager for Emergency Situations / head of Marketing and Communications for ADRA Romania.
“Together with our unseen Partner, we make our presence felt in every home, where our peers need help,” declared Fărâmiță.
“Here we are in the 40th week of active involvement in the fight against COVID-19, equally active and determined in achieving our goals,” said Bogdan Stănică, project manager at ADRA Romania. “Although, worldwide, we are witnessing medical progress in combating the virus, Romania is not yet generating effects to reduce it, which is generally worrying. ADRA Romania maintains a constant in the activities undertaken. Involvement is very active in the directions of intervention, the team maintaining the same pace in action. Looking back, we can say that we have good feedback on lessons learned and adaptability in the new situations we face. The end of the year brings us to the balance sheet, a general portrait of activities, and encourages us to look optimistically towards the future,” concluded Stănică.
Within the project “Humanitarian support COVID-19”, specially created for the current situation, ADRA Romania aims to reduce the risks generated by the COVID-19 virus among the population. The objective is achieved by promoting prevention measures and socio-economic adaptability, and by ensuring the need for commodities to maintain safety.
