The directors of the Personal Ministries, Sabbath School, and ADRA departments of the Spanish Union gathered at the annual convention from 3-5 November, in Madrid.

It was an intense three days, being led by the Holy Spirit and listening to the word of God through the speakers chosen for the occasion: Pastors Abner de los Santos, Homero Salazar, and Ignacio Goya. Their talks, their personal experiences, their music, and their way of presenting the Word of God were pleasantly edifying and the assembly’s general feeling was that they wanted to bring this enthusiasm to our churches.

Participants were divided into two working groups: ADRA, on the one hand, and Personal Ministry / Sabbath School (MIPES), on the other. Each group conducted workshops and activities specific to their position. Special mention should also be made to those who led these sections and who provided material and ideas to work with in our cities.

Testimonies

“Four hundred and fifty kilometres from our home, at a convention of our esteemed Spanish Union, we found the enthusiasm, the desire, and the motivation to push our beloved congregation of Aitona to a long-awaited revival,” recounted Carmina Hernández and Abel Royo. “Three wonderful speakers - Abner de los Santos, Ignacio Goya, and Homero Salazar - who came from the other side of the world, plus the MIPES and ADRA team of our Spanish Union, made it possible for the representatives of almost all the Adventist churches in Spain to unite in one voice, to proclaim the gospel and ask the Lord, in prayer, to transform us into disciples [so that we could] serve to love and love to serve. You are coming Lord!” concluded Hernández and Royo.

“It has been an enriching and renewing experience of encouragement to continue with love in the mission,” commented Dámaris Brito (Church of Málaga). “I am grateful to the Spanish Union for preparing this meeting with love and, together with the different speakers, providing us with material to adapt to each congregation. May God guide us and may we be a blessing in our churches,” concluded Brito.

“For us, it has been a great experience and communion with known brothers and sisters that we met at the [gathering],” shared Moisés Gallardo L. (Puerto de Santamaría Church). He concluded, “Great preaching and spirituality have been the tone of the meeting. I recommend it!”
