ADRA Romania: 861,128.82 EUR International Plan funding for Ukrainian refugees

The goal is to assist Ukrainian refugees in Romania, made up of 3,680 people.

For several months, a large-scale conflict with devastating humanitarian effects has been raging in Ukraine. This reality led to the displacement of the population, both within Ukraine and at the borders of neighboring countries.

Plan International, in partnership with ADRA Romania, intervenes in the situation of refugees in Romania, within the "Hope for Ukraine" project, assisting with their essential needs, namely: the distribution of menstrual health kits for teenage girls and women, hygiene kits, and the implementation of psychosocial activities.

The beneficiaries of the framework project "Hope for Ukraine", which is part of the field of expertise "Assistance of disadvantaged social categories", are Ukrainian refugees, a total of 3,680 people, whose main needs will be met in order to be able to endure the crisis period more easily. At the same time, a media campaign of activism against gender-based violence is initiated for refugees in Ukraine and host communities, through the impact of 30,000 people. The activities within the "Hope for Ukraine" project are carried out in the localities of Brașov, Galați, Iasi, and Tulcea.

The "Hope for Ukraine" project, implemented by ADRA Romania in partnership with International Plan, with the target being Ukrainian refugees in Romania, will run for 4 months, starting on 05.09.2022.

The objective of the "Hope for Ukraine" project, with a total value of EUR 861,128.82, is to assist a target group of Ukrainian refugees in Romania, made up of 3,680 people. Under the project, the refugees will benefit from: parenting sessions for child and adolescent companions to improve mental and psychosocial health, life skills sessions for adolescents, as well as recreational activities for children. Also, children who are unaccompanied or separated from their families will be identified and directed to the competent institutions of the state.

"The "Hope for Ukraine" project, implemented by ADRA Romania, supports Ukrainian refugees, especially children and adolescents, who want to integrate into Romanian society by supporting their participation in courses, services and activities that the employees engaged in the project will offer.
