The President of the French Union of Seventh-Day Adventists (UFA), Ruben de Abreu, said he is shocked by this tragedy: "This tragedy must be also an opportunity for Adventists in Nice to demonstrate their solidarity and involvement in society. It is not enough to pray for the victims' families. It is necessary to respond positively to the request of blood donation. Donating blood is an elementary act of compassion especially when emergencies occur."
Pastor Daniel Monachini, President of the Southern Adventist Conference of France expressed his deep sympathy to the families of the victims and condemned the attack.
Three people from the same family, Adventist members, were injured and hospitalized. Their life isn’t in danger. The Southern Conference of the Adventist Union in France expressed its full support to the authorities and to the law enforcement;
“We pray for the families affected by this tragedy and for the medical staff who cares. We invite our members to pray, to give support, to bring comfort and hope."
In solidarity with the decreed three days of national mourning, the Leaders of the Southern France Conference invite all communities to observe a minute of silence and observe a time of prayer in their worship service on Saturday.
French Union President Ruben de Abreu will be present this weekend in Nice and lead the worship service Saturday, July 16. Daniel Monachini, President of the Southern France Conference and its treasurer, Pastor Philippe Aurouze, will be also present to support the Adventist community of Nice.
