On Tuesday, April 25, in the Hall of Festivities of the Buzău City Hall, Adventist doctor Paul Costache was awarded the distinction of Honorary Citizen. In the morning, during the meeting of the local Council, this decision was voted unanimously.
The Buzău City Hall is carrying out a monthly project to promote an outstanding personality who will be an example of performance for young Buzauans. The person chosen in April is Doctor Paul Costache.
Notably, this is the first distinction for a citizen of Buzău who is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian.
Paul Costache is a primary care physician and founder of the Medinvest Group. He built and runs both the clinic and the hospital with his wife, Mrs. Gabriela Costache.
During the award ceremony, Doctor Paul Costache stressed that the credit for his success is due to the Word of God and the advice he received through the inspirational writings of author Ellen G. White.
He also presented part of the philosophy of life that underlies personal success: "The call to excellence in all we do, as taught by the Bible and the inspired lifestyle advice of author Ellen G. White."
The doctor reviewed the eight lifestyle principles advocated by the Adventist Church and also recalled the supreme duty to prevent illness or treat existing suffering in accordance with the principles sown by the Creator in the human being.
"If the sick will only do what they know is right in terms of living a healthy lifestyle persistently then, in nine cases out of ten, recovery will occur. "
The principles of the healing ministry are laid down in our being, and we are called to work together to make them work in our lives.
"We cannot heal. We cannot change the sickness of the body. But our part, as co-workers with God, is to use the means He has placed at our disposal. Then to pray for God to bless those means. We believe in a God; we believe in a God who hears and answers our prayer. It is the same God who said, ‘Ask, and you shall receive; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you’ (Matthew 7:7). "
In his closing address, the mayor of Buzău, Mr. Constantin Toma, revealed to the audience that the lifestyle advice he received from Dr. Costache and the application of God's principles helped him to realize the need for change in his life and to enjoy better health today.
The mayor concluded his speech by asking for Dr. Costache's help in preparing a lifestyle education policy to be implemented locally, so that the population will be aware of the benefits of simple but effective remedies that can help prevent diseases.
The event was attended by officials from the Buzău City Hall, representatives from the Adventist Union of Romania and the Muntenia Conference, media representatives, and students and teachers from the Pedagogical College of Buzău.
