The Waldfriede Hospital in Berlin-Zehlendorf has been named one of the best hospitals in the world for the third time in a row by the American news magazine Newsweek. At the same time, the F.A.Z. Institute (a company of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung publishing group) also ranked it as one of the best hospitals in Germany for the third time in a row.

This is the fifth time that Newsweek and the German online statistics portal "Statista" have jointly determined the best hospitals in the world. The approaches and methods of the studies, as well as the data and results used, can be viewed online. In the end, the names of the world's best hospitals and clinics are compiled into a comprehensive list.

"These awards confirm the high level of medical care at Krankenhaus Waldfriede, which is based on the expertise of our outstanding physicians and the use of state-of-the-art medical technologies," according to a hospital press release.

It was particularly noteworthy that the chief physicians of hand and foot surgery, the center for intestinal and pelvic floor surgery, and general surgery were among the top physicians according to FOCUS magazine's list of physicians. This award reflects the trust that patients place in the competence of Waldfriede physicians, according to the press release. The F.A.Z. Institute also singled out general and visceral surgery in its award.

"We are proud that Krankenhaus Waldfriede is once again among the world's best hospitals and that our chief physicians are among the top physicians according to the FOCUS list of physicians. These awards are the result of our high-quality standards, excellent medical care and the commitment of our employees," said the hospital's CEO, Bernd Quoß.

Waldfriede Hospital

The non-profit Krankenhaus Waldfriede in Berlin-Zehlendorf is an academic teaching hospital of Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It has been certified several times according to statutory quality parameters and has already received a large number of awards for its medical and nursing quality. Approximately 15,000 inpatients and 120,000 outpatients are treated here each year. The sponsor is the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which maintains around 900 medical facilities worldwide.

Waldfriede is, among other things, a cooperation partner of the Adventist hospital network, Advent Health, in the USA.

The hospital is part of the Waldfriede health network, which also includes a day clinic, a social station, an academy for health and nursing care, a service company, a senior citizens' home, the "PrimaVita" health center, the Nikolassee private clinic, and the "Desert Flower Center".

The Waldfriede network is the most diverse medical and care provider in Berlin's southwest and, with around 950 employees, one of the largest employers in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district. More information can be found here.
