Seventh-day Adventists around the world will have the opportunity to engage in daily praying during the Ten Days of Prayer, the Adventist Church’s corporate prayer initiative, starting January 10, 2024. The annual initiative calls for church members to spend meaningful time united in prayer in their congregations, small groups, homes, social networks, and individually.
Church members have access to Bible promises, daily readings, prayer requests, outreach challenges, and more on this year’s “Priorities of Faith” theme through the ten-day revival and reformation prayer initiative.
The Ten Days of Prayer has its origin in the Books of Acts where the disciples met for 10 days before the Holy Spirit was poured upon them. They had 10 days of spiritual reflection, intercessory prayer, and confession and repentance of sins, and that atmosphere of unity allowed the Holy Spirit to come mightily on them before they went forth.
The Ten Days of Prayer initiative has been growing across the world, engaging thousands of members under that one objective to promote a closer communion with the Creator.
Over the years, more people have been getting involved in sharing the prayer initiative on social networks, motivating others to experience a direct connection with God at the beginning of the year.
“The Ten Days of Prayer initiative is a wonderful opportunity, at the beginning of this year, to encounter God as a community, to pray together and seek God's will and guidance”, declared Ventsislav Panatoyov, director of the Ministerial Association, Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries, and leadership development in the Inter-European Division. “Looking back over the past years, we will see how God has performed many miracles when we have sought Him with fasting and prayer. The Holy Spirit has been making conversions, renewing passion for evangelism, revitalizing churches, and healing relationships”, continued Panatoyov. “Why not relive the streams of blessings God has prepared for us and become part of His great plan for the Church in the new year. I strongly encourage every believer to participate in the upcoming Ten Days of Prayer and, once again, enjoy the power of prayer”, concluded Panatoyov.
