Fear, confusion and hopelessness started spreading into to the hearts of people as country after country went into total or partial lock down, as many people became infected and died, as many lost their jobs and the world economy started suffering from the negative effects of this pandemic.
In the midst of this and other challenges with which we may be confronted, we would like to strongly encourage you to decidedly choose to put your entire life – including all fears and uncertainties in the hands of our Heavenly Father. We need to intentionally cultivate trust in Him, fixing our mind in all the blessings that we have received from Him, not letting any fear or doubt undermine our confidence in Him.
He knows what is the best for us and he promises to all who put their trust in Him that they will be winners. That is, by his power in us we will finally overcome any thing that may be disturbing or discouraging us.
It is up to us to choose how we are planning to live the New Year and the rest of our lives – always fearful, anxious or depressed? Challenges and problems, we will have them always with us. What makes a definitive difference – for good or for bad – is how we face them.
I will conclude with a thought of a strong and resilient man, Paul of Tarsus. He went to many problems and difficulties, but overcame them by the power of God. He wrote:
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:35, 37, 28
