Quality education is important. It provides the knowledge and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

1 in 5 children worldwide are not in school.

Children with disabilities, children in crisis, and girls, face the most hurdles to gaining an education and suffer the sharpest consequences when they miss out. Education for all can help safeguard against violence, abuse, and exploitation, and even reduce vulnerability to natural disasters. Child or adult, a person with an education has an opportunity to a future that would not be possible without an education.

A woman with an education has higher earning potential and healthier children, and the more education that a person gains, the more opportunities become available.

“Unfortunately, not every child in the world has the opportunity to attend school”, said the Press Office of Noah’s Ark school. “There can be various reasons for this. In some countries, girls or children with disabilities are not allowed to go to school. Others are refugees, live in war zones, are married off as children, and their parents are often extremely poor and illiterate”, continued the Press Office.

“To change this, primary and secondary school pupils of the Noah’s Ark school wrote postcards to all members of the European Parliament. These were to be handed to them on the International Day of Education on 24 January 2024 with the request to stand up for children's rights to education”, explained the Press Office.

The postcards were designed and painted by children and young people as part of an art competition for the refugee’s Sabbath.

“When you think about how difficult it is for some children to go to school, you quickly become grateful that our children have such a wonderful privilege”, concluded the Press Office of the School.
