The 11th of November 2023 was the grand opening and dedication of our Tenerife South Seventh-day Adventist Church and the baptism of 15-year-old Angelica. The guests were Pastor Nelson Salgado, Pastor Maicer Romero, the current pastor, Misael Delgado, and the secretary of the Spanish Adventist Union (UAE), Josué Reta.

The "mother" church of Santa Cruz de Tenerife closed its doors to participate in this important occasion, and there was also a delegation from the Icod de los Vinos group.

The activity began with a service of prayer, testimony and thanksgiving. Afterwards, the Sabbath School reminded everybody how important it is to attend the house of God, through some of the writings of Sister Ellen G. White.

Next, attendants were briefly told the story of the brothers who, years ago, decided, guided by the Holy Spirit, to create a small group on the south side of the island. At that time, there was only one church on the island and so, little by little, the Lord was adding more souls until it became a church.

Pastor Maicer Romero then continued with the review of the lesson, emphasising the motivation for the work of the Lord.

A few minutes later, heaven and the church were filled with joy after being part of the conversion of Angelica, a beautiful 15-year-old girl who decided to give her life to Christ through the baptism by Pastor Misael Delgado. Next, Pastor Nelson told attendants about his experience of being a pastor in previous years of our church. And finally, Pastor Josué delighted everybody with the Word of the Lord, with the dedication of the temple and repeating this phrase, together with the membership: "We dedicate this house, O God to you".

At the end of the morning program, the church prepared to serve more than 200 people with a delicious lunch organized by the deacons, deaconesses and volunteers of the church, to continue with the day's program.

In the afternoon, together with the church of Santa Cruz, a beautiful concert entitled "A Living Hope" was held, where we praised and glorified our Lord with beautiful songs and praises. The afternoon continued to be a great blessing and many surprises, as many young people overcame their fears and decided to place their talents in the hands of the Lord to praise Him wholeheartedly.
