"Marienhöhe" the school centre for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Darmstadt gets a new principal: Dr. Christian Noack, he took office on August 1st. During the past school year 87 students completed their studies here, with their Baccalaureate Degree examinations including high school students and PhD students (2nd level of education). Two high school seniors received the perfect score of 1.0.

Christian Noack has previously worked as head of education at the school centre "Marienhöhe". He teaches courses in religion, history, politics and economy. In 1998 he graduated from Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with a doctoral degree specializing in New Testament Studies. He is also a lecturer at the Adventist Theological College Friedensau, near Magdeburg.

"What sets us apart is the way we deal with our students," Noack said in an interview with the Adventist Church magazine "Adventists today" (Adventisten heute). "Of course we also have conflicts, stress - like any other organization, even if we are Christian - but we reflect again on our core expertise: We like our students". Showing care while dealing with the students has encouraged holistic personality development in children and young people, says the new principal.

Noack replaces Gunter Stange who retired July 31. Stange has worked at Marienhöhe since 1981. In 1991 he was vice-principal and had the role of director of studies, responsible for the advanced secondary school. In the spring of 2000 he became principal.

Also retiring is Dr. Wilfried Warning, Department Manager for the secondary school. His successor will be Reiner Junek, former vice-principal. Stefan Petersen will assume the position of vice-principal.

The Seventh-day Adventist educational institution during the past school year, has enrolled 700 pupils. More than half of the 62 teachers belong to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The year 1925 was the beginning of "Seminar Marienhöhe", and since the 1950's it has also included a nationally recognized High School. In 1994 followed the Junior High School, and in 2010 the Elementary School.
