Adventist News, Italy - In a few weeks a part of the Lazio region will be light green. It is the color of the uniforms of the Adventist pathfinders who come into our country from all over Europe and some countries of the world for the International Camporee. This event takes place every five years, in a different country each time.
From 1 to 8 August, 2.300 of boys and girls, aged between 12 to 16 years, will cross the Alps and the seas to get to Baden Powel Park, near Bassano Romano, Viterbo. The AISA (Italian Adventist Pathfinder Association), the leaders of the Youth Department of the Adventist Church in Italy and many volunteers will welcome all the guests comi
ng from different European countries, America, South America, Asia, and Africa. For one week Bassano Romano will be the center of the Pathfinders World. The theme of the camp is "Walking with Paul". The young people will meet the apostle Paul, chief guide of faith, the man who experienced extraordinary adventures, the one who was able to challenge his world. Through a play, you will travel with Paul, stopping in a different city every day: Ephesus, Philippi, Cyprus, Athens, Corinth, Malta and, of course, Rome. All activities, games, badges, sports, etc... will refer to what happened in the mentioned city where you stop for the day.
"For this Camporee we propose a theme centered on faith and adventure," said Pastor Daniel Calà, national AISA leader. "Faith, because it is a challenge for all, a challenge that God has launched in order to maintain our contact with him, and at the same time, adventure, because pathfinders are at the perfect age for adventure, to explore something new, to conquer new heights. We decided to combine these two aspects and... here is motto of the Camporee: Faith Adventure", he concluded. The last stop of their trip will be Rome, not far from the location of the Camporee, the city that still retains some places where Paul lived.
