Bern, July 3, 2017. [CD-EUDNews.C.Cozzi] On June 23, 2017, Nicolas Walter, CEO of La Ligniere, welcomed participants to the inauguration of a new Medical and Therapeutic Center, marking a symbolic step in the history of the Clinic. "This project was born, above all, from the desire to seek and develop our activity, especially in the field of outpatient care," Nicolas Walter said.
The inauguration was attended by a decent number of people, mainly from the medical as well as economic and administrative contexts of the region.
Dr Stéphanie Monod, Head of Public Health, and Mr. Cretegny, First Citizen of Gland, were present as representatives of health institutions of the district and region (such as hospitals, home care, university hospital, etc.). Dr. Murray Brandstater, Member of the Loma Linda Hospital (California USA) Board and former Chief Medical Officer was present at the ceremony cutting the ribbon. They visibly appreciated this new offer of La Lignière. Mario Brito, President of the Administrative Board of La Lignière SA, gave his message of gratitude and recognition of the effort to open this center while respecting his initial project.
La Lignière, as a whole (clinic and outpatient center), is an establishment (with the Résidence De Forest) that wants to be anchored in its region (arc Lemanique). It wants to be close to the population and offer them excellence in terms of care. "Faithful to the history of La Lignière, we have shown, once again, and I say it with humility, proof of a pioneering spirit with the opening of this medical and therapeutic center, of which there is not yet a similar model, to the best of our knowledge,” affirmed Nicolas Walter.
This new Medical Center offers therapeutic rehabilitation in cardiology, diabetology and neurology, as well as orthopedic and rheumatological rehabilitation. It also provides occupational therapy, neuropsychology and logopedic therapy, physiotherapy, along with nutrition and dietetics for internal medicine, and pain therapy.
At the inauguration, participants were impressed by the building's luminous architecture and its beautiful design, which "inspires peace and serenity" (quote from a doctor).
"Today, as we have said, we are taking a significant step forward in the evolution of this site. We remain faithful to our tradition and the values that have been our strength for over 110 years: a biological, psychosocial and spiritual approach to the patient, according to the health mission advocated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”
La Lignière Clinic and the new La Lignière Medical and Therapeutic Center, located in Gland, Switzerland, are part of the Philanthropic Society of La Lignière, a non-profit association created in 1904 and managed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. All the institutions that make up La Lignière are faithful to the mission of caring, established by Jesus to his Church, and the heritage of the spirit of the pioneers who built this campus, including Dr. Perry Alfred De Forest, a disciple of Dr. JH Kellogg.
