The General Conference Nominating Committee released the names of the new Division presidents. Pastor Mario Brito has been elected as the Inter-European Division President (EUD).
Pastor Brito was born in Praya, Capo Verde, on September 24, 1955, where he lived for 18 years. In 1973 he emigrated to Lisbon, Portugal. After his secondary studies, Pastor Brito started the Theology studies in the Sagunto Seminary, Spain, for 2 years. He continued in Collonges, the Adventist University in France, for three years, before concluding his studies in Andrews University, Michigan, USA, where he got a Master of Divinity.
Elder Brito started his pastoral work in 1981. He served as church pastor, Bible teacher, dean at a Seminary, church planter. Pastor Brito was elected as Portuguese Union President in 1997.
In Saint Louis, USA, at the 2005 General Conference Session, he was elected as EUD Sabbath School, Personal Ministries and Stewardship director, but remained also Union President in Portugal for one year more.
In 2010 he was elected Ministerial and Chaplaincy Director at the EUD.
Pastor Mario Brito is married with Maria José Brito, Shepherdess director at the EUD. They have a daughter, Estela Abigail, married with adventist Pastor Cesare.
Pastor Mario Brito declared: “I really would like to see our Division united to accomplish the mission that Christ entrusted us. May the mission unify us!”
