Darmstadt, Germany [APD; CD EUDNews]. Since February 7 in the "Hope Channel" library of the media center "Voice of Hope", an SDA institution, a new section for the Deaf is available with products and programs with DGS translation (German Sign Language).
Hope Channel Germany is already producing selected sermons with translations for the Deaf. "Previous programs of 'Hope Channel' have received positive feedback", said Birgit Kiepe, a staff member of the media center. Further program formats will be produced with gesture translation. The goal is to give all people access to Christian values and faith topics.
Hope Channel has created a barrier-free access for the Deaf on Christian themes through the new section of the library. They offer access to programs with DGS translation without time limits, “this is unique in the Christian media scene in Germany”, commented Kiepe.
