Beginning August 1, 2009, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Germany has access to a newly created website - www.adventisten.de. This is the fourth website designed for the church in Germany. The purpose of the website is to make people “aware of the church’s engagement in society at a national and local level,” explains Pastor Günther Machel, president of the church in Southern Germany. “Visitors to our website also find encouragement for their personal, everyday faith.”

The new website was developed by the Stimme der Hoffnung (Voice of Hope) Media Center located near Darmstadt. Spiritual messages are included throughout the website. For example, users have access to a selection of Bible verses and daily devotionals. Visitors can also tune in to current Hope Channel radio and TV programs or view TV reports of current events from the media library. Visitors will also find a news section run by the Adventist Press Service (APD). Information on current events and projects is noted. Adventist churches, youth groups and Pathfinder groups throughout Germany can be located via Google mapping. There are book reviews, informational texts on church, society and everyday faith and documents for downloading.

The new web page is to be constantly updated. Seven local German conferences will also be creating Internet websites using the same layout. Currently, the German church consists of 35,000 baptized adult church members worshiping in 586 churches with an additional 11,000 children, Pathfinders and youth.
