In a significant demonstration of international solidarity, ADRA Slovakia and a coalition of partner organizations have successfully delivered 16 power generators of varying capacities and two 8 kW charging stations to the Ukrainian capital. The total value of this specific aid shipment, facilitated by ADRA Ukraine, is estimated at €166,000.
Strategic Distribution of Resources
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko officially acknowledged the arrival of the humanitarian shipment, expressing gratitude for the sustained support from the Slovak Republic. According to city officials, the distribution of the equipment will prioritize the education sector. Specifically, the three most powerful units—with outputs of 225 kW, 100 kW, and 63 kW—have been designated for schools across various districts of Kyiv to ensure the continuity of the academic process during energy instabilities.
The "Warmth for Ukraine" Campaign
The procurement of these units was made possible through the "Warmth for Ukraine" (Teplo pre Ukrajinu) fundraising initiative. Launched in late January 2026, the campaign was spearheaded by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic in collaboration with Donio, Slovakia's largest fundraising platform.
The campaign’s success is underscored by the scale of public participation:
Total Funds Raised: €1,100,000
Total Donors: Over 19,500 individuals
Objective: Continuous procurement and logistics of generators and charging stations for Ukrainian urban centers.
Collaborative Partnership Framework
The "Warmth for Ukraine" initiative represents a comprehensive cooperative model between the public sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The logistics and funding were supported by a consortium of eleven prominent organizations.
This humanitarian bridge continues to operate as Slovak partners utilize the remaining funds to secure additional energy equipment, addressing the ongoing infrastructure challenges faced by Ukrainian municipalities during the winter season.
