Valérie Dufour, Director of the Health Department of the Inter-European Division, recently visited the HopeMedia Center in Spain, accompanied by a few spanish health experts, as Dr. Carlos Fayard and his wife, Carlos Angella and by the psychologist Javier Del Pino.

Besides visiting the facility they produced five chapters of a series of interviews, which form part of the "WeCare" project, through which the Director of the Health Department of the inter-European Division aims to raise awareness about health and at the same time to improve the image of the Adventist Church, since the church’s main objective is precisely to evangelize through health.

The “We care” project aims to produce a series of materials (videos, articles, etc.), and a website (still under development), through which non Adventists can learn how the Adventist church cares about them and their health (physical, mental, social and spiritual).

According to the health concept of the WHO (World Health Organization), "health is not the absence of disease but a complete physical, mental and social well-being”. As Christians, we can add the spiritual well-being, as an indivisible but fundamental part of human beings.

As part of this new health project of the Division, Valérie Dufour interviewed various professionals, among whom were Dr. Carlos Fayard, a leading doctor and psychiatrist.

During her stay in the HopeMedia Center, Valérie Dufour presented to the the spanish media team some of the projects of the Health Department of the Inter-European Division, as the ‘Secrets of wellness project’, which is currently used throughout the Division.

The Director of the EUD Health Department urged local churches to use the project videos every Sabbath and to sponsor these projects on social networks.

In fact, all the materials are on the EUD Health Ministries website, ready to be downloaded and used by members.

The Division Department presents and publicizes its projects also every month in the Adventist Review Magazine.

According to Valérie Dufour, health projects are an excellent method to contact people and to talk to them about the Lord. Nowadays, health remains the key to publicize the Church "and it is our responsibility to use this key so that people can find Jesus.”
