During a recent pastoral visit to the Inter-European Division, Erton Köhler, president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and Barna Magyarosi, president of the division, traveled to Czechia to evaluate and support the ongoing mission of the Czecho-Slovakian Union Conference.
The itinerary included leadership meetings with regional pastors and Bible workers to discuss core institutional identity and strategic outreach. Operating within a heavily secularized demographic, the Church faces unique challenges, as an estimated membership of fewer than 10,000 Adventists serves a combined population of 16.4 million across Czechia and Slovakia, supported by approximately 120 active pastors.
In Prague, the leaders toured the local union headquarters to observe regional church operations and educational initiatives, culminating in the official inauguration of a new media center. Initiatives such as OneVoice27 were highlighted as growing components of the region's broader evangelistic strategy, leveraging modern communication platforms to reach local populations. Central to the discussions was the reaffirmation that all institutional resources and personnel are dedicated directly to advancing the global mission of the Church.
Despite prevailing cultural secularization, local leadership and congregations remain focused on biblical foundations and community engagement, continuing to share the message of hope and the imminent return of Jesus Christ across the region.
