Bern, June 13, 2012. [CD-EUDnews]. Marcel Fernandez, well-known in the Franco-Belgian territories and in French-speaking countries around the world, passed away June 13, 2012 in Annecy’s Hospital, in his 70th year. He was born on October 10, 1942. He ministered in France and in Africa, particularly in Cameroon, as a teacher for long time. Marcel Fernandez was also teacher at the Faculté Adventiste de Théologie, in Collonges, France where he was elected director from 1980 to 1984. Many students have great memories of his ministry. “What impressed me the most about professor Fernandez,” said Corrado Cozzi, EUD Communication director “was his capacity to interact with all the students challenging them to open their minds and to go the one-more-mile in studies, research and relationships.”
Marcel Fernandez ended his ministry as executive Secretary to the Adventist Trans-Mediterranean Association, an Adventist organization in favor of Muslims countries, especially in North Africa.
He shared his life with Dorothy, until she passed away after a long and painful sickness a few years ago. Deepest sympathy and support is shared with his children, their spouses, grandchildren and the entire family. A commemoration ceremony will take place in the campus church at the Faculté Adventiste de Théologie, in Collonges, on Friday afternoon June 15, 2012 at 14:30.
