Silver Spring, MD. October 17, 2012 – Adventist Risk Management (ARM) President Bob Kyte presented The Seven Campaign initiative to the General Conference annual council delegates. The Seven Campaign was developed by Adventist Risk Management to raise awareness and mobilize members at the grass-roots level to use their voice, life and influence to stop child abuse.
“Don’t they say that the best things in life are free?” Kyte said, “You can use your voice to raise awareness about this issue, you can use your life to make a difference and you can use your influence to make a change where you are.”
The Seven Campaign is a digital campaign centered around a website www.thesevencampaig

n.com which provides information and digital resources such as posters, presentations, message points, and videos. These resources are freely available to be used in churches, schools and out in the community. “This campaign can be an outreach tool in our communities” and Kyte added, “It is an issue we must keep at the forefront.”
The ministry of risk management makes ARM especially sensitive to the issue of Child Abuse. ARM has partnered with other organizations that are at the forefront of actively promoting child protection in their respective fields. Partners include ministries such as Christian Record Services, The La Sierra Center for Conflict Resolution, Family Ministries, Youth Ministries, The NAD Education Department and more.
The Seven Campaign is a call to action for all Seventh-day Adventists and supporters to stand up and put into practice those principles we hold true. Seventh-day Adventists have historically affirmed the dignity and worth of each human being and decry all forms of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
The goal of this campaign is to raise the level of awareness about child abuse and create a culture of vigilance and best practices. ARM hopes that the Seven Campaign will spur churches and schools into action; that they will implement Child Protection Plans at the local level and allow for more open discussion about this important issue.
