Waldfriede Hospital Expands Diagnostic Capabilities with New Permanent MRI System

The Radiology Department at Waldfriede Hospital has significantly upgraded its medical infrastructure with the installation of a modern, permanent MRI container on the hospital campus. The new system replaces a previously utilized mobile unit and allows for continuous, on-site high-resolution imaging.

"With this addition, we can provide our patients with even faster and more comprehensive care," said Dr. Georg Brinkhaus, Head of the Radiology Department. "Modern diagnostic imaging is an essential foundation for precise and individualized treatment."

Advanced Technology for Enhanced Patient Care

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) produces high-resolution images of organs, muscles, joints, and the brain without relying on ionizing radiation. Working alongside Computed Tomography (CT)—which utilizes X-rays for detailed internal imaging—the two modalities complement each other to support diagnostic accuracy across virtually all medical specialties.

Because modern treatment guidelines increasingly require MRI scans as a prerequisite for accurate diagnosis and therapy planning, the addition of the new system enhances the hospital’s operational capacity. The permanent setup allows for more flexible appointment scheduling, reduced patient wait times, and faster diagnostic turnarounds.

Investment in Infrastructure and Service Quality

The acquisition represents a key investment in the facility's medical technology.

"With the new MRI system, we are investing in state-of-the-art medical technology and creating the conditions for even better patient care," stated Bernd Quoß, Chief Executive Officer of Waldfriede Hospital. "For us, innovation and compassion go hand in hand."
