Bern, Switzerland [D. Hochstrasser; CD EUDNews]. The first Adventist Inter European Women's Congress is on September 5-8 in the Haus Schönblick in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Through lectures, workshops and sharing opportunities, the 800 participants from 20 European countries are encouraged to discover their potential, to strengthen their self-worth and lead a fulling happy life. The Congress was organized by Denise Hochstrasser, Head of the Women's Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Central and Southern Europe.
Women from networking to being single
Under the heading of education, empowerment and confrontation, the Congress wants to offer "Women in Action" some suggestions on how to competently live their Christianity in the family and society in a complex and secular world. The Congress includes issues on health, forgiveness, depression, social media, abuse and the church, being a mother, quiet time, problem solving, and guiding refugee children and young people to independence. The presentations and workshops are led by professional women from Europe, Brazil, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States and usually held in English or German and translated into 11 languages.
Violence against women
With Flash Mob on Sunday, the promotion enditnow® will be set up and open to the public in the fight against violence and abuse against women. The Women's Department of the Church as well as ADRA have stood up worldwide for years, in the campaign against violence against girls and women.
"Female genital mutilation has nothing to do with culture, religion or tradition. It is torture and thus a crime that must be fought against, "says Waris Dirie, a victim of genital mutilation, Somali UN human rights activist, model and actress in the movie" Desert Flower ". It was founded in cooperation with the Desert Flower Center at the Waldfriede Hospital in Berlin, and will be presented by Dr. Cornelia Strunz. This is the place where recovery operations are performed. The “enditnow” evening event is on September 7th at 8 p.m. in the Forum of the Hauses Schönblick, all are invited and urged to attend.
The “Liron” choir will perform a charity concert on Sunday at the Landesgartenschau, and the proceeds will go to the victims of female genital mutilation in Kenya.
