Adventist youth prepare for Commitment Month and Global Youth Day. The month of March is a special time for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, highlighting the commitment and service of its youth.
Throughout this month, young people are encouraged to discover and develop their talents, as well as to become actively involved in the life of the church and their community. This celebration of youth culminates with Global Youth Day, an international day dedicated to the positive impact of Adventist youth around the world.
Global Youth Day, which will take place on March 16 this year, is an opportunity for young Adventists to demonstrate their faith and their desire to serve their neighbors. In cities around the world, groups of young people will mobilize and organize concrete actions to serve their communities, such as meal distributions, cleaning operations, visits to retirement homes, and even aid programs including supporting children with their homework.
Beyond the immediate impact of these actions, Global Youth Day aims to encourage young Adventists to develop a lasting spirit of service and engage in long-term projects. It is also an opportunity to show the world the dynamism and compassion of Adventist youth, and to bear witness to God’s love through concrete actions.
To amplify the reach of this event, digital tools will be used. Young Adventists are invited to share their testimonies and actions on social media, using the hashtag #GYD2024. Online events will also be organized to allow more young people to participate and connect with their peers around the world.
Youth Month and Global Youth Day are key moments for the Adventist Church, which wishes to encourage and promote the commitment of its young members. By inviting them to reveal their hidden gifts and to serve their neighbors, the Church invests in its future and that of society as a whole. All young Adventists are invited to mobilize and participate in this celebration of youth and service.
More about Global Youth Day
With the support of GC Administration, the 13 Division youth directors, MENA Union and the Israel field, “Global Youth Day” (GYD) was launched on March 13, 2013. The vision of GYD is to recapture the reality of Adventist youth as a global movement mobilized for service, contributing to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ.
