Austria: New School Co-Sponsor and Board Member for Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary

Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen

The Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary has gained another school sponsor: the regional institution of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg Conference).

Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary, a traditional educational center of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Upper Austria, welcomes the Baden-Württemberg Conference as a new school sponsor. The Conference joins the existing school sponsors, which are the regional institutions of the Adventists in Austria (Austrian Union) and German-speaking Switzerland (German-Swiss Conference). This was announced by the management of Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary. This partnership, which officially came into effect on January 1, 2025, marks the successful conclusion of a nearly two-year process and strengthens the seminary's future-oriented orientation.

A Growing Partnership

The connection between Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary and the Baden-Württemberg Conference goes back a long way, according to the press release. Generations of pupils and students from Baden-Württemberg have received their education in Bogenhofen, and many pastors from the Baden-Württemberg Conference have studied there. This long-standing and close relationship now receives a new, solid framework through the official co-sponsorship. The collaboration has intensified, particularly since the founding of the School of Education (SoE) in 2017. The Baden-Württemberg Conference, as the sponsor of a network of schools, and the Schloss Bogenhofen Seminary share the common goal of training qualified teachers and pastors and providing the best possible support on their path to the Matura (high school diploma).

Promoting cross-border cooperation

The co-sponsorship agreement is the result of a close cooperation that has developed over decades in the following institutions: the theological seminary, the Gymnasium (high school), and the School of Education. The three educational institutions, together, represent almost 13,000 members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in German-speaking countries. The three regional authorities' heads of education are working closely together to further develop teacher training in Bogenhofen and promote cross-border cooperation on the Adventist educational landscape, the press release states. Other departments of the seminary will also be strengthened by the new sponsorship.
